Programme Introduction

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management is designed to allow candidates to gain knowledge and skills necessary to function at highest academic and professional levels. The objectives of the programme are to produce graduates who are able to apply systematic comprehension, knowledge and skills in the field of management. Graduates of this programme will also be able to express ideas and opinions critically and effectively via writing and oral presentations as well as identify new approaches in providing management based research findings. The learning outcomes are structured to address important aspects that cover practical knowledge and skills, social skills, communication, leadership and team work, information management, lifelong learning, managerial and entrepreneurial skills.

    HEP Senate;

    OR

    • Other qualifications equivalent to a
    master’s degree that are accepted
    by the HEP Senate.

    Note:
    • No direct entry from bachelors degree
    level to doctoral degree level.
    • Candidates with bachelors degree
    who are registered for master’s
    degree programmes may apply
    to convert their candidacy to the
    doctoral degree programmes within
    ONE (1) year after master’s degree
    registration, subject to:
    a) having shown competency
    and capability in conducting
    research at doctoral degree
    level
    b) rigorous internal evaluation by
    the HEP
    c) approval by the HEP Senate.
